SANFORD – (AP) – A 30-year-old woman with swine flu has died, likely making her Florida’s second swine flu fatality since the worldwide outbreak began in April.
The woman died early Tuesday at Florida Hospital in Altamonte Springs, a suburb of Orlando. She had checked into the hospital earlier this month and had been placed in isolation. Seminole County health officials confirmed last week that she had been infected by the H1N1 virus.
Health officials said they would not have an official confirmation on the cause of death until next week.
The woman had high-risk complications that made her especially vulnerable to the flu’s effects.
