A Citrus County man is facing 20 counts of sexual battery on a minor, as well as showing pornographic materials to a young Homosassa girl.

Arrested on Friday was George Harrison Nussbaum, 38, of Homosassa.

The age of the girl is listed by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office as between 14 and 18 years.

According to the arrest report, the young girl reported to Marion County authorities she had been sexually battered. She said it began on Sept. 25, when she was given two glasses of wine by Nussbaum. At that time, she told a CCSO detective, Nussbaum began fondling her, and persisted doing so in spite of her attempts to get him to stop. She was able to go into the bedroom, she said, but he allegedly came into the room and laid down beside her, kissing and fondling her.

After that night, the girl said, Nussbaum forced her to remove her clothes and forced her to have sex with him. The last incident was on Thursday of this week, she said. She told the detective she was in the living room when Nussbaum is said to have began rubbing her. When she resisted, she said, he forced her into the bedroom, made her take the bottom half of her clothes off and had sex with her.

The girl told the detective that during the past month and a half, Nussbaum forced her to give him oral sex on about 17 occasions, and forced her to have sex with him on about 20 to 25 occasions. Sometimes, she said, he would slap her. She also said she was forced to look at several forms of pornography.

After being read his rights, Nussbaum told the detective he did show the girl pornographic materials. He also said he did go into the bedroom and laid down with the girl, and touched her over her clothing. He said he did ask her to remove her pants, but that his intent was just to spank her. He denied ever penetrating her.

When advised of the girl’s charges, the arrest report says, Nussbaum became upset and told the detective he wanted to tell the whole story and whole truth if he could just go home. However, he was handcuffed and taken, instead, to the Citrus County jail.

He was charged with 20 counts of sexual battery of a person under 18, and three counts of showing pornographic material to a minor.

Bond was set at none.
