Olley Franklin Ramsey
An Inverness man is in jail following an investigation into an alleged child abuse case.
Arrested was Olley Franklin Ramsey, 44, of 7640 E. Log Lane.
The case was first brought to the attention of the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 19. The CCSO Child Protection Team interviewed the young boy, who is under 18 years of age. The boy told investigators he and a witness were playing on the living room floor of Ramsey’s home. When Ramsey got home, the boy said, he told him to get out of the way, then slapped him in the face and head several times and pushed him so hard the boy fell to the floor.
The boy also said he hurt his back when he fell, and that Ramsey had leaned over him and punched him in the head. The boy’s aunt was also in the living room at the time, the arrest report says, and corroborated what the boy said, adding that Ramsey also picked up the boy and threw him to the floor.
Ramsey was interviewed at the CCSO’s Emergency Operations Center in Lecanto, where he gave conflicting statements to an investigator, the arrest report says.
Ramsey was arrested and charged with child abuse, and bond was set at $10,000.
