Jeffrey Michael Lloyd

A 20-year-old Hernando man was arrested on Thursday by Citrus County Sheriff’s Office deputies after a search warrant yielded several illegal drugs and associated paraphernalia.

Arrested by the CCSO’s Tactical Impact Unit was Jeffrey Michael Lloyd, of 4490 E. Custer Terrace, who is also facing drug trafficking and other charges.

Deputies executed a search warrant at Lloyd’s residence, where they found Lloyd, his grandmother and another person at home. Inside a bedroom, officers noticed a gallon-size plastic bag of what deputies believed was marijuana in a center of the bed, the arrest report says. After all three subjects were read their rights, Lloyd said the bedroom and marijuana belonged to him.

Lloyd told deputies he sells marijuana and a few pills on the side daily, and that he re-stocks at least once a week, the arrest report says. He also said about $4,500 in a safe in the bedroom that he had previously earned. He said he had lost his job nearly two months ago and began selling marijuana and pills to earn “side money.”

He also said he received some Oxycodone pills from his grandmother, but the pills were not in the prescription bottles, the report says. He said he had other pills in his bedroom that he takes to try to curb his drug habit.

A search of the bedroom yielded firearms and contraband items. The arrest report says deputies found two plastic bags of what they said was marijuana, with a combined weight of 563 grams, and a small black box with three white pill bottles with their labels removed. Inside two of the bottles were about 55 Oxycodone pills, while the third bottle contained 37 Xanax pills. Other pills were also found in the bedroom as well, the arrest report says.

Deputies also found digital scales, metal grinder, glass smoking devices, bong and other items considered drug paraphernalia. They also found the approximately $4,500 Llloyd had said was in the bedroom.

Lloyd was arrested and taken to the Citrus County jail. He was charged with drug trafficking, charges related to the possession and sale of those drugs and charges of the possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance.

Bond was set at $65,000.
