TUSCALOOSA – University of Alabama defensive end Marcell Dareus has been suspended for two games by the NCAA following an investigation into contact with an agent.
The NCAA’s reinstatement staff informed the university Thursday that Dareus, one of the nation’s top pro prospects, must also repay $1,787.17 to the charity of his choice for benefits received.
Dareus reportedly took a summer trip to South Florida for a party that may have been hosted by an agent, resulting in an investigation. NCAA rules prohibit student-athletes from accepting anything of value from sports agents.
